About this Blog

Meet my very 1st horse, Lazarus.
I couldn't wait for Santa anymore or ask one more time for a pony for my bday (after age 30 it got embarrassing). I took matters in my own hands and I finally decided to pick a pony that needed a new home. Laz found me as I contemplated with this idea. He was sweet yet very sassy, fresh off the track, Thoroughbred (OTTB).

Travels with horses-Part 2

This "Travels with horses" is  more about, when your equine is more than just a horse
It's your love.
It's your life.
Your passion.
Your connection to something so real, true, honest and magnificent.
And not having your steed included in a family event is unheard of.
Now, when I got married to my Husband, we had just our sweet Mason.
Since then, we've rescued our Pudgie.
And of course, our Lazarus.
I have to think they would have been a HUGE part of our day, somehow, either in life or pictures, or something.
So this idea was brought back into present life, during my recent talks with my sister about her upcoming 2012 wedding.
We get to skype and drool over photographs of other weddings and create 'design bulletin boards' of what we think the day will look, feel, taste, smell like.
Of course, we came across these photos and she sent to me saying "Hey...how about for your 10th anniversary??" wink wink!
So I know you lovely readers would enjoy these images as much as I did!

I wish I had these as part of my wedding album...there are some equine great details!

These are all borrowed from cool websites...
Wouldn't these be dreamy wedding invites?
 Fun signage!

Swooon...combining wedding planning and ponyLuv..what is better than that?!
Now, I must have a daugher.....

So, since I didn't have Laz as part of my wedding day....what about this option for our future?!
She has a seat made of glue and a lovely OTTB Mare Lucy, who tests it often but because she is so beautiful, it's easily forgivable I assume.
She did a wedding dress photo session ( aka "Trash the Dress") that I droooool over!
I may have to do this!!!
And perhaps not even in my wedding dress (b/c at 5 yrs married, would that be odd?) but maybe in a cool long vintagey dress of sorts!
LOVE LOVE LOVE...enjoy these shots!

Who doesn't dream of this while cantering around in an arena?

It was really beautiful when panning the internet to see how many brides were out there, that included their 'first' love as part of their wedding day, decor, life.
Have any of you done something like this?

  6. It would take quite a man to handle a horse invading the wedding gracefully - don't they often get jealous of the wedding itself?!

    Love those last photos :)

  7. Love all the photos...Kate's especially which I'd seen before.

I didn't own a horse when I got married, but it's a spectacular idea for like, a 10th anniversary photo shoot. Just lovely:)

  8. I love the riding boots under the wedding dress and the canteing through the field in the dress...wow! I did not own a horse when I got married but I did have to incorperate the equine species into my day. We had a horse drawn carriage take us from the chapel. Since my anniversary was 2 days ago I may just have to post about it.

  10. Awww that's awesome! I too was horse-less when I got married. I would definitely have included Chrome in the festivities if I'd had him at that time. Those pictures are lovely.

  11. I actually did gallop in on my wedding day. We got married in a hay field at my parents VT farm. Things I learned: It's very hard to mount in heels, go barefoot or wear boots. use an english saddle or be strategic about your dismount (dress+saddle horn= potential funny disaster)- I was lucky, I gathered up the dress in a wad and swung off without a hangup. Also, when i rode up the guests started clapping (what?!? who does that?) and of course the horse who had already braved the large flapping tent was not pleased. But I didn't fall, no one got run over and it was really really fun.
