Ack!
8-12" are supposed to come along with 40 mph winds and COOOLD.
Makes any horse Mommy worry about their baby.
And I thought we were almost done with winter
I went out this morning, to feed my boy an extra wet slurpee slurry for his tummy with extra Aloe Juice to soothe any issue he may have. Weather wise, or new herd wise.
He's keeping himself quite busy protecting his 'baby.'
It's cute and pathetic, really
"See pwetty JessieMare, minimini? She's the boss other than Mom ok?!"
"Oh HI Lazzie'z mommiez..iz u gunna groomz me againz..i itchysz!!!"
They talk alike, they graze alike...
Ugh!
How does the most handsome boy scrape himself like this?! At least it didn't break the skin...I put some Dermagel to encourage hair growth. Luckily his fraggle rock bangs cover it for protection (and vanity).
They are total Bff's, Laz herds his 'baby' around and Little Chief (aka Keebler, aka The Baby, aka Minimini) follows him around for his security. So painfully cute!
"What?!..Nooooo, SawYeR, There iz Nooooo Minimini in herez..Go awayz!!!"
"Whew...alone at last my baby Minimini..."
Remember that 80's show "My Two Dads"
Sharing their two open stalls, the three geldings are a riot.
Aha! See, Laz bites (gently..like Mommy bites) to move his Minimini around as he wants him to go safely
The baby sometimes squeals but totally listens and sometimes humps his rump at his big brother Laz.
I had to remind Laz that I can touch Little Chief WITHOUT Laz needing to pin his ears at me...!
He got over it and remembered his manners and all was ok again in Barbie dream horse world for him.
Ok, so STAY WARM people!
Our barn's horses are being brought inside for tonight to be in their stalls.
Good wishes for all horses around to drink your water, keep calm and stay warm!
Love the pics of him with the minimini - great that he's got a tiny friend!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm Laz!! I am so happy he has a little friend. Absolutely adorable :) And it cracks me up so much that he pinned his ears at you lol!!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures of Laz and his new friend! Stay warm and safe!
ReplyDeleteThat little mini is one fuzzball of cuteness! And I love how Laz "mothers" him -- adorable.
ReplyDeleteNow, go light a fire and make yourself a nice big mug of hot cocoa. :-) Hope you all weather the storm well!
Good luck with the weather - love the pictures of Laz and his minimini... precious - so cute it hurts! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the snow - stay warm. Laz's new friends are just wonderful. The sweet minimini is the very best!
ReplyDeleteI am wondering...do the three friends ever squeeze themselves into one stall? I have sheds but they are big and open. I always wanted to figure out a way to open our barn but we have stalls in there and I worry that the two boys (now three) will jam into one stall. I know Laz and Mini go in there, but does Sawyer try too?
So far, we have about 6" and it is still snowing but no where near the 18" blizzard that was rumored. Whew! Enough for a snow day today..HOORAH!
ReplyDeleteJuliette-Great question you ask there. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the two stalls that lead out to paddock and pasture, have an inside door that is open as well. So the horses would never be all stuck in one stall, it's open to the next and they go thru both all the time. SO stalls have front doors that open to the paddock, and also an interior opening that opens into each other making it joined. Make sense? A larger shed would work better and we are going to be looking at revising some of the property as we may shuffle some of the herds around. :)
In the last two photos, you can see that Little Chief/mini is standing in b/w both of the stalls.
ReplyDeleteThat is WAY too cute!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww they are so cute!! I'm glad they like each other so much. :D
