About this Blog

Meet my very 1st horse, Lazarus.
I couldn't wait for Santa anymore or ask one more time for a pony for my bday (after age 30 it got embarrassing). I took matters in my own hands and I finally decided to pick a pony that needed a new home. Laz found me as I contemplated with this idea. He was sweet yet very sassy, fresh off the track, Thoroughbred (OTTB).

Ok...so winter is getting OLD

We have been pretty good at enjoying the winter.
But we are cold.
Kisses are cold little icicle whisker scratchy ones
We want this velvet nose back!

Mason says "I LOOOOOOOOOVE WINTER....I LOVE LIFE, I LOVE MY FRISBEE, I LOVE TO RUNS, I LOVE TO PEE, I LOVE TO PLAY, I LOVE TO EAT, I LOVE TO CAR RIDE, I LOVE TO LOVE!"
You get the general happy Lab motto
Temp said "0" when I drove out to the barn
We did a quick groundwork lesson.
Quick as in 40 minutes to let your beet pulp soak, so I can feed it to you, quick.
I also gave the herd (Mini, Laz and Sawyer-who I worked on his personal space issues with) warm, as in bath warm water to drink.  They have nice tepid water but really on these cold days, the spoiled babies prefer a nice 80 degree slurp of water.
I counted the gulps (thanks Lilly!) and they drank up a storm...I offered another, and they drank it all.  The Mini was first, he took about 10 mini gulps. Laz pushed in and drank an entire bucket and a half himself, and Sawyer a few sips...I think he was just curious what they were drinking.

  1. Adorable...Mason loving life, sweet friends of three enjoying "hot cups (gulps) of tea" and dreams of summer whiskers to kiss. I am so sick of winter. 0 degrees? This is nuts. I only do this for the horses. They like the cold or else I would move to Florida. My next horse (when I am 80 years old) is a zebra. They dig the heat and I can live in Florida without guilt! Hooray!
    Stay warm!

  2. I wanted my old lady horse to be a Fjord, but I think I am going to bag that in favor of moving to a warmer climate. DONE with winter, I think we must have set a local record for below zero days.

  3. Zeppelin LOVES warm water out of a bucket. :D Our lovely spoiled equine. I'm sick of winter too. It can't be too much longer now. We just have to be patient. :)

  5. 80 degree slurps of water!! That is spoiled! But in a happy wonderful way. I am cold too, and I think we are all ready for the snuggly soft velvety muzzles to be around all the time! The heat of August is really starting to look good right now. heck, I am cold when I am INSIDE! PS I love the font your blog uses. It is sweet and whimiscal.

  6. I'm ready for the velvet noses, too!

Mason's motto made me laugh--I love how dogs can be so happy all the time, about just about anything :)
