About this Blog

Meet my very 1st horse, Lazarus.
I couldn't wait for Santa anymore or ask one more time for a pony for my bday (after age 30 it got embarrassing). I took matters in my own hands and I finally decided to pick a pony that needed a new home. Laz found me as I contemplated with this idea. He was sweet yet very sassy, fresh off the track, Thoroughbred (OTTB).

TrailMix

Meet Lazaroo, Trail riding Ponee who wants to lead the WHOLE trail and loves to walk, trot or canter.
I swear, this pony loves the trails like I do. It's SOOOOO freaking beautiful in there right now.
Remember when/if you were a child in the 80's and you saw this movie , this is how I feel when we trail ride, lol! It's magical. Swear.
There may have been a unicorn sighting...or a deer...I don't know, we were blind with bliss.
"I see U kneeCORns!"
Laz and Justin are total trail mates-it's awesome
Justin leapt over some logs and he's such a beautiful jumper! It was fun to watch
I mean, DO YOU SEE that trail?! It calls to you...summons...
Here is the section below
where one (who was brave enough) would cross the FAST Milford Rd to get to Kensington which has more MILES of trails.
One day.  That road scares the bejezus out of me right now.
Also, you see that little red building. That is a Dairy Queen closed (sin!!) for the season.
Bucket list; next summer Laz and I are enjoying a cone there.

Side note; the not so blissful part are the people that like to drive by at 40000 million miles per hour and not.tap.a.brake.
Do you not see girls on their beautiful steeds that don't want to die?! SLOW down. I'm glad it's literally 1/4 mile of road before we get to the private property, and then to the trail.

 See, I told you it's magical..hearts in a forest?!
Who knew..but they are there.
See, photo documentation. I can't tell a lie!

Here is what we rode until my phone DIED, and we probably rode another 2 miles more.
Again, we timed it perfect (because we may have gotten lost) and got home RIGHT at dark
Friday we have a Parelli lesson and will do it IN the saddle or bareback vs ground work.

    1. Hi Syd, all bit-less still too :)

It's a great app, tracks while you ride so if you get lost you can see where you were/are. Tracks the speed, etc. LOVE it and it's free via itunes. I'm not sure if it's only for iphones or not.

    1. Trail riding was SO over rated in my book and now, it's completely the most FUN I have with him. It's just a great workout, and GREAT training for being bravery!

  6. I am sorry, but I am moving up there!!!! You are stuck with me! Too beautiful for words...my three ponies want to ride with you.

When I was in middle school I used to ride my sweet mare, Penny Lane down a slow, sleepy road to an ice cream stand called Peaches and Cream. They had an outside window and I would buy a cone. My little horsey girl would stick her face and tongue right in the cone and steal the first bite! I didn't know horses liked dairy - yuck! Then, after I gobbled the ice cream she would munch the cone right up.

Now, my boys and I cross a busy road and I sometimes dismount to cross and sometimes not. Either way, I am only crossing over to goofy places to ride - not heavenly trails like you have. Can you set up a mounting block on the other side of the busy road far into the trail and then just dismount to cross. Don't miss the miles of trails!

    1. You know I would be on cloud 10000 to ride with you and your lovelies!
I will be brave enough one day (when traffic isn't the after work crazy "Kill all horses" kind) to get back over there. We rode those trails last year once..but we want to go back. SOON!!!
I wonder if Laz will like dairy! :)

  10. What a lovely trail! Yes, you must go for ice cream someday...that would be so fun!
I know what you mean about drivers--I constantly wave my hand in a descending motion to slow down. They think I'm waving at them (Duh!)--just don't get it. Check out the vests on the UK website voodoo-creations.com I like the one "Kill your speed, not my horse". Happy (and safe) trails to you.

    1. What GREAT vest/jackets!! I do that wave, like hand up and then DOWN for 'slow down' but they totally disregard it. It's awful and scary! :(((

  12. I so agree--a day like that you cannot pass up. And those trails! they are straight out of that unicorn movie, that's for sure. If only Fall and Winter ould trade places so Fall lasts months and months, and winter zooms out as quickly as it zooms in! Ah, Cruel World! I don't like riding on roads either because of the ridiculously ignorant drivers! Once a guy on a dirt road honked at us because he wanted to speed by like a True Idiot! I would have clobbered him, but he sped off too fast!
    Go Team Laz!
