As sensitive as he is it's probably just the grass.Achieve1dreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15401246064499148344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874624063824272651.post-53111119376391645702011-05-26T06:26:52.263-04:002011-05-26T06:26:52.263-04:00Don't worry about your decision - you know his...Don't worry about your decision - you know his metabolism, you know how to tell and you know what to do. Hope the foot does well - I expect it will now that it's off the grass. There's a range of sensitivities to grass - some horses can gorge and it makes no difference and some can't have any and all the way in between. Pie's off grass for now until it dries up quite a bit and then we'll see.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874624063824272651.post-28721169349673667402011-05-26T00:40:28.607-04:002011-05-26T00:40:28.607-04:00BTW. The ice ...I think ice boots are a really good idea. The ice boot was great for Denali! Don't worry about what people think of what you do for Laz. I know Denali so well swear I can sense when she's sick from 50 miles away. I just know. You're a smart momma! You're doing the right thing. Still fucking scary.Brooke (FBX Adventures - In Parenting) https://www.blogger.com/profile/17040183680228006616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874624063824272651.post-61351422526940362342011-05-25T23:46:58.045-04:002011-05-25T23:46:58.045-04:00Aaaaaahhhh! And, no, you're totally not over-reacting, you are taking care of your baby.

What about a grazing muzzle? Or maybe it's best to dry-lot for now and then do the grazing muzzle. And possibly some ice hoof-boots are in order just in case?

Sending good vibes to the Laz-man! I'm sure he'll be just fine, especially with your extra precautions.Frizzlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03084225669041286128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4874624063824272651.post-71184601106163298302011-05-25T23:15:07.978-04:002011-05-25T23:15:07.978-04:00Well, crap...but you are so smart and such a good ...Well, crap...but you are so smart and such a good mom-I think you are doing the exact right thing. You almost lost your baby, so I don't think there is any possible way you could over-react to anything remotely odd with his feet. I'm so sorry-I know it's going to suck because they are ALL obsessed with grass right now. But yeah, with the 24 hour constant rain we've had here, you can't be too careful. Hope the hoof temp goes back to normal asap. Also? Mason does not TAKE a bad picture, even when he's got demon Lab eyes:)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08665170020323796310noreply@blogger.com
